About The Position

Central Maine Healthcare (CMH), a member of Prime Healthcare Foundation, is an integrated healthcare delivery system serving approximately 400,000 residents across central, western, and midcoast Maine through more than 40 primary and specialty care locations. Its facilities include Central Maine Medical Center (CMMC), Bridgton Hospital, and Rumford Hospital, as well as the Maine College of Health Professions. The Operating Room Tech prepares sterile supplies and instruments for assigned procedures, maintains the sterile field during cases, and provides surgeons with sterile supplies and instruments. This role is part time and works nights at Central Maine Medical Center. The stated reasonable compensation estimate is $26.56 to $30.31 per hour; the exact starting compensation depends on factors including skills, applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent, or related experience, required for new hires effective April 2014.
Graduate of an ORT training program, or on-the-job training with a minimum of 3 years of experience; surgical-setting experience is preferred.
Experience scrubbing minor and major procedures in generalized surgical specialties, such as GYN, general surgery, and plastics.
Experience scrubbing at least minor procedures in specialty surgical areas, such as orthopedics, neurology, ENT, and urology.
Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintained thereafter.

Responsibilities

Prepare sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure.
Maintain the sterile field during cases.
Provide surgeons with sterile supplies and instruments during assigned procedures.
