About The Position

This role is for a Certified Surgical Tech in the Endoscopy GI department at Ascension Saint Alexius in Hoffman Estates, IL. The position is full-time, day shift, with call responsibilities. The Surgical Tech will be responsible for preparing the operating suite, assisting with patient preparation and positioning, providing instruments and supplies to the surgeon, and maintaining instrument organization and count tracking.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsibilities

Prepare the operating suite by organizing sterile supplies, drapes, and necessary instruments.
Assist with the safe preparation, transportation, positioning, and draping of patients.
Provide requested instruments and supplies to the surgeon throughout the procedure.
Maintain instrument organization and perform continuous count tracking to ensure surgical efficiency and safety.
