About The Position
The Certified Surgical Services Assistant/CNA supports surgical care by performing direct patient care tasks under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse and non-direct patient care activities that support unit operations and the daily Operating Room schedule. The role is per diem and based in Kirkland, Washington. It includes preparing and turning over operating rooms, maintaining instruments and equipment, supporting anesthesia supplies, and providing backup scheduling support for advanced elective surgery procedures.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Current Nursing Assistant-Certified credential in the State of Washington.
- Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hire.
- Knowledge of principles of asepsis.
Nice To Haves
- Six months of experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
- Six months of previous experience in Surgical Services, Patient Scheduling, and Health Unit Coordinator experience.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, set up, and turn over Operating Room cases.
- Prepare charts for admission, discharge, and transfer.
- Sterilize and clean instruments and equipment in compliance with AORN standards.
- Provide and maintain anesthesia supplies and equipment.
- Provide backup to the scheduler for scheduling advanced elective surgery procedures.
- Perform direct patient care tasks under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
