About The Position

This position is for a Certified Substitute within the Ellensburg School District for the 2026-2027 school year. The role involves stepping in for absent teachers and ensuring continuity of instruction.

Requirements

• Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate
• An OSPI successful background check through the FBI and WSP within the past two years.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with students.
• Ability to work cooperatively with District and school staff as well as students.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Ability to follow lesson plans and instructional materials devised by the classroom teacher.

Nice To Haves

• For applicants that do not have a Washington State teaching certificate but possess a BS/BA four-year degree, Emergency Substitute Certificates are available.

Responsibilities

Benefits

• Substitutes working 21 or more consecutive days in the same assignment will be paid at a per diem rate (based on salary schedule placement) beginning on the 21st day.
