About The Position

The Floating Substitute inspires students and staff by being an active member of the school team, embodying, advocating, and operationalizing the mission and values of the school. This role involves maintaining a rigorous academic culture and positive classroom culture in the absence of a teacher, modeling behavior incentive and discipline systems, and supporting school culture during critical points of the school day and year. The Floating Substitute also provides classroom culture support on an as-needed basis and takes on other tasks as needed. Crescent City Schools is a nonprofit Charter Management Organization dedicated to supporting and developing open-enrollment charter schools to improve student achievement and prepare students for college. They currently manage three PreK-8th grade schools and aim to create transformative educational experiences.

Responsibilities

Being an active member of the school team by embodying, advocating, and operationalizing the mission and values of the school
Maintaining rigorous academic culture in the absence of a teacher
Maintaining positive classroom culture across the school, modeling the use of behavior incentive and discipline systems in the absence of a staff member
Maintaining positive school culture during critical points of the school day and year – arrival, dismissal, recess, and testing days
Providing classroom culture support on an as-needed basis
Taking on other tasks, as needed
