About The Position

The Sterile Processing Department is responsible for delivering medical-surgical instruments that have been properly decontaminated, inspected, assembled, sterilized, and issued for patient use. The Certified Sterile Processing Technician has completed certification in Sterile Processing.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
No prior work experience is required.
Must be certified as a sterile processing technician.
Ability to perform the physical and visual aspects of the job.
Ability to read and write legibly with spelling accuracy and demonstrate good mathematical skills.
Basic medical terminology and knowledge of the human body.
Dependability, honesty, and integrity in all aspects of the job.
General computer knowledge.
Pleasant, professional demeanor when dealing with customers and coworkers.
Ability to speak with pride, voice control, and confidence, using correct English and a well-modulated voice.

Responsibilities

Process medical-surgical instruments through decontamination, inspection, assembly, and sterilization.
Issue properly processed medical-surgical instruments for patient use.
