About The Position

The Certified Sterile Process Technician (CSPT II) is a certified sterile processing technician with a minimum of 12 months of experience as a CSPT I or 24 months of experience in an acute care facility with an active sterile processing department. This role demonstrates competency in all aspects of sterile processing and acts as a resource for other employees. The CSPT II is responsible for completing assigned tasks efficiently, rotating through decontamination, instrument room, and sterilization areas, operating all equipment safely, and completing necessary documentation accurately. The employee accepts responsibility for errors, makes improvements to work practices, and can make independent decisions in the absence of a manager. Teamwork and a positive attitude are essential, as is adherence to infection control policies and attendance requirements. The role involves professional development, staying updated on new developments and regulations, and participating in process improvement initiatives. The employee must be able to perform under stress, adapt to change, and maintain functionality in emergency situations. This job requires technical application of knowledge, accurate handling of delicate instruments and equipment, and assurance of sterility of processed materials, often with multiple distractions. The ability to read and understand various documentation and perform functions accurately is necessary. The employee shows initiative in learning new procedures and accomplishes tasks accurately and in a timely manner. Work assignments require planning and arranging one's own work to accomplish definite objectives.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Two years of related experience.
Requires working knowledge of specialized practices, equipment, and procedures.
CERTIFIED STERILE PROCESSOR
Must have certification- Certified Sterile Processing Technician or Certified Endoscopy Technician
Minimum of 12 months experience as a SPT I or who has been engaged in the active certified sterile processing technician role for at least 24 months in an acute care facility with an active sterile processing department prior to being employed at THS.
Employee must be able to perform under stress in daily assignments, adapt to frequent change in the work environment, and maintain adequate functionality in emergency situations.
Requires the ability to read and understand a variety of informational documentation, directions, instructions, methods and procedures, and be able to perform functions.
Assignment requires planning and arranging own work to reach definite objectives.
Applies knowledge of a specific field using several varied procedures or techniques.
Solves non-routine technical, treatment, or operational problems under general guides.

Responsibilities

Capable of completing all assigned tasks in an efficient and competent manner, seeking assistance as needed.
Rotates to decontamination, instrument room, and the sterilization areas with the ability to operate all equipment, observing safety and security procedures, completing all necessary documentation accurately, and monitoring own work to ensure a quality product for our customers.
