Certified Social Worker (CSW) - Travel Group Therapist, As Needed, Hopkinsville
About The Position
Harbor Behavioral Health is seeking Certified Social Workers to travel to its Hopkinsville Therapeutic Rehabilitation Program (TRP) to cover shifts. Workers choose from the shifts the organization needs covered, and schedules are set in writing before they begin. Each shift starts with a morning team meeting, followed by leading the day's group and completing documentation the same day. A Peer Support Specialist usually works alongside the therapist and begins the notes; an LCSW co-signs them. With supervision, the CSW may take on client assessments and treatment plans over time. Required Board supervision is provided by an LCSW. There is no on-call responsibility or productivity quota. The position is on site in Hopkinsville and is intended for CSWs who live in or near Lexington, Louisville, or Northern Kentucky. Compensation is $50 per hour for every hour of a Hopkinsville shift, including drive time, with mileage and lodging paid separately. Employment is contingent on completing HBH pre-employment checks and screenings, and verifying license, education, and references. The Kentucky Board of Social Work must approve the supervision contract before the employee starts; HBH submits it after acceptance, and the stated average approval period is about three weeks.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program.
- Active Kentucky Certified Social Worker (CSW) license, maintained in good standing throughout employment.
- Obtain Kentucky Board of Social Work approval of a supervision contract with an HBH Board-approved LCSW before starting.
- Willingness to travel to the Hopkinsville program.
- Intermediate to proficient ability to use AI tools in daily work, such as for drafting, organizing, summarizing, and streamlining workflows.
- Strong clinical judgment, assessment, and documentation skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.
- Complete HBH pre-employment requirements, including background, registry, and federal exclusion checks; drug and health screenings; license and education verification; and reference checks.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with adults with serious mental illness.
- Familiarity with Kentucky Medicaid documentation standards.
Responsibilities
- Attend the morning team meeting at the start of each shift.
- Lead the day's therapeutic group at the Hopkinsville program.

- Travel to Hopkinsville to cover shifts selected from the days for which coverage is needed.
