About The Position

The Certified Scrub Tech prepares the operating room and assists the surgeon and care team during surgical procedures. The role also supports patient transfers and may help with front-desk and clerical tasks. The position requires a flexible Monday–Friday schedule, and travel to other locations may be required; travel time and mileage are paid.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program.
• CST certification.
• Experience working in a surgical environment.
• Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexible schedule Monday–Friday.
• Willingness to travel to other locations as required.

Nice To Haves

• Ophthalmology experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room for surgery by gathering equipment and supplies and ensuring the room is in working order and sterilized.
• Assist with washing, shaving, and disinfecting the surgical site.
• Set up and maintain the sterile field, maintaining sterile technique at all times.
• Assist with draping, sponging, and retracting; pass sterile instruments and supplies to the surgeon; cut sutures; and perform other duties requested by the surgeon.
• Anticipate the surgeon’s needs and ensure necessary equipment and instruments are available.
• Assist with the care or disposal of specimens and with wound dressing.
• Help transfer patients to and from the operating room.
• Support the front desk by answering phones, pulling charts, and performing other clerical tasks as needed.
