About The Position

This role involves assessing, planning, and implementing patient care, monitoring and documenting patient conditions, evaluating respiratory practices, managing equipment and inventory, and responding to emergency resuscitation team calls. The position is located at Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola in the Respiratory Care department and operates on a PRN night shift schedule.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the Florida Board of Respiratory Care obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsibilities

Assess patient for appropriate treatment, develop a plan of care based on diagnosis, and implement and monitor the care plan and equipment.
Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition while performing advanced respiratory care modalities.
Evaluate respiratory practice, medications, and treatments based on patient outcomes, and educate the patient and family about health conditions and community programs.
Assist with the care, calibration, maintenance, cleaning/sterilization, and inventory levels of all department equipment and supplies.
Respond to emergency resuscitation team calls.
