About The Position

This role is for a Certified Respiratory Therapist at Ascension Sacred Heart Bay Hospital in Panama City, FL, within the Respiratory Therapy Department. The position is PRN with a day schedule. The therapist will assess patients with respiratory conditions, develop treatment plans, administer therapies and medications, monitor patient responses, and collaborate with the healthcare team. Responsibilities also include responding to emergencies, maintaining and troubleshooting respiratory equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and infection prevention standards.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the Florida Board of Respiratory Care obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsibilities

Assess patients with respiratory conditions and develop individualized treatment plans based on physician orders, clinical findings, and evidence-based respiratory care practices.
Administer respiratory therapies, medications, and advanced treatment modalities while monitoring patient response and adjusting care as appropriate.
Monitor, document, and communicate changes in patient condition while collaborating with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary care team to deliver exceptional patient care.
Respond to emergency situations, including rapid response and cardiopulmonary resuscitation events, providing critical respiratory support when needed.
Maintain, calibrate, clean, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment while supporting inventory management and ensuring compliance with safety and infection prevention standards.
