About The Position

The Brigham and Women's Hospital, Inc. is seeking enthusiastic and collegial Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) to join their growing practice. This role involves working within the Anesthesia Care Team model across various locations and specialties, including 47 operating rooms, out-of-OR locations, Obstetrics, and a surgi-center. The CRNA is responsible for comprehensive patient care before, during, and immediately after procedures requiring anesthesia. This includes pre-operative assessments, developing anesthetic care plans, managing specialized equipment, monitoring patient data, airway management, administering various types of anesthesia, and providing post-operative care. CRNAs also play a role in teaching Student Registered Nurse Anesthetists and may have opportunities in clinical research. All CRNAs must adhere to federal, state, hospital, and departmental guidelines.

Requirements

  • Diploma Nursing required
  • Master's Degree Nurse Anesthesia Practitioner required
  • Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist [CRNA (NBCRNA)] - National Board of Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
  • Evidence of analytic thinking necessary to care for a group of patients
  • Demonstrate observational skills and the ability to set priorities
  • Ability to function under stress with good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrate effective skills in applying hospital standards in area of service, teamwork, communication, respect for others, and time/priority management
  • Physical abilities and manual dexterity to function as an anesthesia care provider
  • Ability to administer all types of anesthetics, using a variety of techniques

Responsibilities
