About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our vascular surgery team on a part-time basis in an outpatient Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). The ideal candidate will have strong regional anesthesia skills, including experience performing upper-extremity peripheral nerve blocks, and experience caring for patients undergoing vascular and dialysis-access procedures. This position is well suited for an experienced CRNA who is comfortable managing patients with complex medical histories while working collaboratively with vascular surgeons, nursing staff, and the perioperative team.

Requirements

  • Current CRNA certification
  • Current Texas APRN/RN licensure as applicable
  • Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia program
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification
  • Demonstrated experience performing upper-extremity peripheral nerve blocks
  • Strong airway management and anesthesia assessment skills
  • Experience providing MAC and regional anesthesia
  • Ability to recognize and appropriately respond to anesthesia-related complications and emergencies
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with surgeons, nursing staff, and other members of the perioperative team

Responsibilities

  • Provide anesthesia services for vascular and dialysis-access procedures in an outpatient ASC
  • Perform appropriate pre-anesthesia patient assessments
  • Develop individualized anesthesia plans based on the patient's medical history, procedure, and clinical condition
  • Perform upper-extremity peripheral nerve blocks for appropriate surgical procedures
  • Provide monitored anesthesia care (MAC), regional anesthesia, and other anesthesia services within the CRNA's scope of practice and facility privileges
  • Manage anesthesia throughout the perioperative period
  • Continuously monitor patients and promptly identify and manage changes in clinical condition
  • Provide safe emergence and transfer of care to the postoperative nursing team
  • Participate in postoperative assessment and management of anesthesia-related concerns
  • Maintain complete and timely anesthesia documentation
  • Follow facility policies, anesthesia protocols, infection-prevention practices, and patient-safety standards
  • Work collaboratively with vascular surgeons and the ASC clinical team to provide efficient, high-quality patient care
