About The Position

The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) is responsible for administering anesthesia and providing anesthesia-related care before, during, and after surgical or procedural interventions. Collaborates with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other medical professionals to ensure patient safety and comfort. This role is PRN, meaning as needed to fill in for vacation and sick relief for full-time CRNA.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Anesthesia Program
  • Active RN and CRNA licensure in the state of Kentucky
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification
  • PALS certification

Responsibilities

  • Administering anesthesia and providing anesthesia-related care before, during, and after surgical or procedural interventions.
  • Collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other medical professionals to ensure patient safety and comfort.
  • Determining appropriate anesthesia plans.
  • Administering various types of anesthesia, including general, regional, and local anesthesia, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout procedures.
  • Monitoring patients' vital signs and adjusting anesthesia levels as needed to maintain stability during surgery.
  • Providing post-anesthesia care, assessing patients as they recover and addressing any complications.
  • Maintaining accurate records of anesthesia administration and patient responses, following legal and facility documentation requirements.
  • Collaborating with surgical and medical teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Educating patients and families about the anesthesia process and post-operative expectations.
