About The Position

The Certified Recovery Peer Advocate will work full-time, 40 hours per week, in the Behavioral Health Department at Gouverneur Hospital. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. This role involves supporting individuals in their recovery journey.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Completion of a 30-hour Peer Recovery Training course
  • Completion of a Peer Ethics Training Course
  • Provisional Certified Recovery Peer Advocate status (if applicable)
  • Must complete 500 hours of work experience, including 25 hours of supervision within 6 months
  • Must schedule and pass the IC&RC Exam upon completion of work experience
  • Must maintain current certification status
