About The Position

The Certified Pharmacy Technician provides customer service and supports pharmacy operations and patient health and wellness services within applicable state and federal laws. The role includes assisting the pharmacist, accurately processing prescriptions, providing permitted patient services, and helping maintain a safe, clean, and inclusive environment. The technician is expected to demonstrate the company’s values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to handle highly confidential information.
• Completion of national registration, certification, or licensure.

Nice To Haves

• Previous comparable experience.
• Equivalent experience as a pharmacy technician.

Responsibilities

• Support company health and wellness initiatives.
• Understand and follow HIPAA regulations and company policies regarding HIPAA.
• Maintain current national and/or state registration, certification, or licensure as required by the state.
• Assist the pharmacist with responsibilities other than those requiring a pharmacist’s professional judgment.
• Provide a strong customer experience while accurately and efficiently completing reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing.
• Support continued coaching and training of clerks and/or technicians.
• Compound medications according to state and other applicable regulations.
• Perform post-fill audits to verify prescription information matches computer records.
• Support non-dispensing services using available platforms, resources, and applications.
• Complete all aspects of CLIA-waived screenings consistent with state and federal law and company policies.
• Provide additional health and wellness services permitted by state and other regulatory bodies.
• Follow and reinforce sanitation and safety regulations, guidelines, procedures, and programs; identify unsafe conditions and notify store management.
• Comply with local, state, and federal regulations and report illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
• Perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
