About The Position

Downriver Medical Associates is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Pharmacy Technician for its Call Center Department. The role supports chronic care patients and oversees the medical refill line by assisting with onboarding, obtaining patient consent, and coordinating care with primary care providers (PCPs) and specialists. It includes medication reconciliation and adherence to departmental policies under the guidance of a Medical Doctor.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Pharmacy technician certification is required.
At least one year of experience in a pharmacy technician position.
Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Computer proficiency.
Ability to read, speak, and understand English.
Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for professional advancement.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting.
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and pharmacy management systems.
EPIC experience.

Responsibilities

Reconcile medications from various pharmacies and healthcare providers to ensure accuracy and safety.
Collaborate with patients, PCPs, and specialists to coordinate care and manage medication therapies.
Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers regarding medication management and care plans.
Document and relay patient concerns or inquiries to the pharmacist or relevant healthcare team members.
Participate in training and continuing education on policies and medication management techniques.
Process medication refill requests received through MyChart and voicemail in accordance with current office policies.
Participate in team meetings to discuss workflow improvements and patient care strategies.
Perform other relevant and related duties as required.
