About The Position

This role is responsible for maintaining pharmacy systems and technology, including inventory systems and automated medication counting machines. The technician will ensure accurate data and system compliance by preparing records and reports, monitoring inventory levels and expiration dates, and calibrating machines. They will also troubleshoot pill cell issues and maintain medication inventory by sorting, stocking, and replenishing medications, reporting low stock, and ensuring stock rotation. The position supports the facility with reporting and paperwork to ensure productivity and pharmaceutical integrity by entering and modifying data, processing paperwork, creating documentation, and identifying and resolving discrepancies. The technician will promote the pharmacy's reputation and deliver products and services in accordance with laws and policies by assisting the pharmacist in prescription fulfillment, stocking merchandise, handling claims and returns, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment. They ensure the fulfillment of pharmacy prescriptions in an automated central fill pharmacy to maintain a continuous workflow and meet daily production and quality goals by using scanners, verifying product details, entering expiration dates and lot numbers, labeling prescriptions, weighing medication, counting or pouring medication, and preparing packages. The role also involves maintaining the quality, accuracy, and integrity of inventory by utilizing automated systems, ensuring timely delivery and stocking, adhering to inventory control procedures, auditing and testing pill cell performance, managing the pill cell database, troubleshooting issues, and processing recalled, expired, or outdated pharmaceuticals. The technician complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity, completes work assignments, and identifies improvement opportunities. Requirements

  • Meets state requirements to work as a Pharmacy Technician, such as minimum age, qualification, registration, certification, and/or licensure when required by the State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Holds an active/valid national certification certificate issued by PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT).
