The Certified Peer Coach provides recovery-oriented peer support, advocacy, skill development, and resource-navigation assistance to members participating in New Freedom programs. Drawing on relevant lived experience and formal peer-support training, the coach helps members recognize their strengths, set meaningful recovery goals, develop healthy coping strategies, and build skills and support systems for greater independence and successful community reentry. The coach collaborates with Re-Entry Specialists, clinical personnel, and other treatment-team members to support engagement, continuity of care, and progress toward individualized goals. Work takes place in outpatient behavioral health, recovery, reentry, residential, professional office, and community-based environments. The role includes individual and group interactions, supervised trips, appointments, and approved community-based services; occasional local travel may be required. The posting’s title indicates a Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. schedule, while the description notes that schedules may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays based on program and member needs. The role involves periods of sitting, standing, walking, and moving through work and community environments; frequent verbal, written, and electronic communication; and frequent use of computers, keyboards, telephones, mobile devices, Electronic Health Records, and standard office equipment. It may involve accompanying members through facilities or community locations, entering and exiting buildings or vehicles, and occasionally bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, or moving materials weighing up to 30 pounds. When transportation is assigned, the coach must be able to enter, exit, and safely operate a standard company vehicle and remain seated during travel.
