About The Position

The Certified Operating Room Tech works in Surgical Services at Mercy Medical Center. The role prepares sterile supplies and instruments for assigned procedures, maintains the sterile field during cases, and provides surgeons with sterile supplies and instruments. This is a part-time position with variable shifts at the Aurora, Illinois facility. The stated compensation range is $28.00 to $38.00; the exact starting compensation depends on factors including skills, applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or related experience; stated as required for new hires effective April 2014.
• Graduate of an ORT training program, or on-the-job training with a minimum of 3 years of experience; surgical setting preferred.
• Current Certified Surgical Technologist certification.
• Experience scrubbing minor and major procedures in generalized surgical specialties, such as GYN, general surgery, and plastics.
• Experience scrubbing at least minor procedures in specialty surgical areas, such as orthopedics, neuro, ENT, and urology.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintenance of current certification.
