About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital - Midtown Atlanta is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU care to chronically and critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) treats patients with complex needs and challenging diagnoses under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. This is a PRN/per diem, as-needed position on weekdays only, located in Midtown Atlanta, Georgia, with compensation of $40.00 per hour. The hospital provides an extensive orientation program and notes that the role may lead to potential full-time opportunities.

Requirements

• Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Certified BLS, or completion of BLS within the first 90 days of employment, as required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual patient therapy regimens under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
• Monitor patients’ responses to treatment and, in collaboration with an Occupational Therapist, modify treatment during sessions as indicated.
• Complete appropriate documentation according to department policies and procedures.
• Participate in departmental, hospital, and community continuing education seminars and in-services.
