Home Health Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (PRN)-Jasper, TX
About The Position
PARS Therapy is seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join its home health team in Jasper, Texas. The position supports individuals managing physical, developmental, or cognitive challenges through personalized care designed to enhance independence and quality of life. The COTA implements individualized treatment plans under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, helps clients build and maintain daily living and work skills, and works with families and caregivers to support progress. The role is onsite in Jasper and takes place in a home health environment.
Requirements
- Active COTA certification for the state of Texas.
- Solid understanding of occupational therapy practices and evaluation tools, such as Katz ADL and Lawton IADL scales.
- Proficiency with digital documentation and therapy software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to different personalities and care environments.
- Ongoing commitment to professional growth and evidence-based practice.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a home health or rehabilitation setting is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Support clients in developing, recovering, and maintaining daily living and work skills.
- Implement individualized treatment plans under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
- Adapt and apply therapeutic interventions to enhance safety and independence in activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs).
- Educate clients on breaking down tasks into manageable steps and using adaptive strategies.
- Recommend and train clients in the use of adaptive equipment.
- Assess home environments and suggest modifications based on client needs.
- Collaborate with families and caregivers, providing guidance and education.
- Track and report patient progress toward treatment goals.
- Accurately document care provided and maintain up-to-date records.
- Conduct regular follow-ups to ensure continued progress and support.
