About The Position

PARS Therapy is seeking a committed and empathetic Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to provide home health services in Central Austin, Texas. The role supports individuals with physical, mental, or developmental challenges in developing, recovering, or maintaining daily living and work skills. The COTA delivers client-centered services that help people perform everyday tasks with confidence and independence, using a holistic approach and adapting environments to meet individual needs.

Requirements

• COTA certification required.
• Proven working experience as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant.
• Excellent knowledge of occupational therapy principles and practices.
• Hands-on experience with computer programs and creative media.
• Familiarity with ADL evaluation tools, such as the Katz ADL Scale and Lawton IADL Scale.
• Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities.
• Current knowledge of treatment practices in the discipline and a commitment to continually learning and growing professionally.

Nice To Haves

• Home care or rehabilitation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Address clients’ performance needs to support engagement in occupations that affect health, well-being, and quality of life.
• Select and adapt the appropriate occupational therapy treatment model, method, and approach for each case to direct interventions.
• Apply interventions to maximize safety and performance in activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs).
• Teach clients new ways to approach tasks and help them break activities into achievable components.
• Assess clients’ homes and other environments and advise on alterations consistent with their needs and capabilities.
• Recommend adaptive equipment and train clients in its use.
• Guide and educate family members and caregivers.
• Observe, note, and report progress toward long- and short-term treatment goals.
• Collect data and document processes followed.
• Regularly follow up with clients.
