About The Position

Post-Acute Rehab Solutions is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide home health services to clients in Katy, Texas. The role focuses on helping people with physical, mental, or developmental challenges develop, recover, or maintain essential daily living and work skills. The assistant provides client-centered services that support clients in managing everyday activities with greater confidence and independence, using a holistic approach and adapting environments to meet individual needs. The position is PRN and covers all Katy ZIP codes.

Requirements

• COTA certification is required.
• Proven working experience as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant.
• Excellent knowledge of occupational therapy principles and practices.
• Hands-on experience with computer programs and creative media.
• Familiarity with ADL evaluation tools, such as the Katz ADL scale and Lawton IADL scale.
• Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities.
• Current knowledge of treatment practices in the discipline and willingness to continually learn and grow professionally.

• Home care or rehabilitation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Address client performance needs to support participation in occupations affecting health, well-being, and quality of life.
• Select and adapt an appropriate occupational therapy treatment model, method, and approach for each case to guide interventions.
• Apply interventions to maximize safety and performance in activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs).
• Teach clients new ways to approach tasks and break activities into achievable components.
• Assess clients’ homes and other environments and advise on alterations suited to their needs and capabilities.
• Recommend adaptive equipment and train clients in its use.
• Guide and educate family members and caregivers.
• Observe, document, and report progress toward long- and short-term treatment goals.
• Collect data and document processes followed.
• Follow up regularly with clients.
