About The Position

Talin Home Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). The COTA works under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality care in settings that may include pediatrics, outpatient services, skilled nursing facilities, acute care, and home health. The role focuses on supporting patients’ functional abilities and quality of life through individualized treatment plans and therapeutic interventions. Coverage areas include Fairfax and Falls Church, with other areas available. The work location is on the road.

Requirements

Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
Occupational Therapy Assistant License (required).
Knowledge of medical terminology related to occupational therapy practices.
Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology relevant to therapeutic practices.
Ability to implement effective care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Compassionate demeanor and commitment to patient-centered care.

Nice To Haves

Experience or familiarity with home healthcare, outpatient therapy, skilled nursing facilities, or acute care settings.

Responsibilities

Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
Provide therapeutic interventions focused on Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) to promote patient independence.
Conduct assessments and document patient progress according to established protocols.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support comprehensive patient care.
Educate patients and families about treatment goals and home exercise strategies.
Maintain accurate treatment records, progress notes, and documentation of changes in patient condition.
Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
