About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital - Midtown Atlanta is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) treats patients with complex needs and challenging diagnoses, conducting individual therapy regimens under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. The role monitors patients’ responses to treatment and, in collaboration with an OT, modifies treatment during sessions as indicated. It also includes completing documentation in accordance with department policies and procedures and participating in continuing education seminars and in-services. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, in Midtown Atlanta, Georgia, with no weekends. Compensation is $30.00 to $44.00 per hour.

Requirements

Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
Certified BLS, or completion within the first 90 days of employment, as required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

Conduct individual patient therapy regimens under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
Monitor patients’ responses to treatment and collaborate with an Occupational Therapist to modify treatment during sessions as indicated.
Complete appropriate documentation according to department policies and procedures.
Participate in departmental, hospital, and community continuing education seminars and in-services.
