About The Position
St. Bernard Nursing & Rehab is hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for its skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in New Orleans, Louisiana. The COTA implements individualized treatment plans, assists residents with therapeutic exercises and daily living skills, teaches adaptive equipment use, conducts therapeutic activities, and documents patient progress. The role supports residents’ independence and physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being while working collaboratively with facility staff. The schedule is full-time, with compensation starting at $33.00–$38.00 per hour.
Requirements
- Current Occupational Therapy Assistant certification in Louisiana.
- Availability to commit to a full-time schedule.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Implement individualized treatment plans to help residents achieve their goals.
- Assist residents with therapeutic exercises and daily living skills.
- Teach the use of adaptive equipment to promote independence.
- Conduct therapeutic activities and foster motivation.
- Document patient progress accurately and on time.
- Collaborate with facility staff to promote residents’ highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.
