About The Position

Sentara is hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in Norfolk, Virginia. This is a Flexi, day-shift opportunity. Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, the COTA administers occupational therapy treatments and procedures. The role may also assist with developing treatment plans, perform routine functions, and document treatment progress within the scope of plans established by an Occupational Therapist. The COTA provides age-appropriate education to clients and caregivers and supervises and assumes responsibility for care provided by identified team members.

Requirements

• Associate's-level degree, certificate, diploma, or degree from an accredited school.
• Current Virginia licensure or eligibility for Virginia licensure.
• Current National Board Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (NBCOT) or certification eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Administer occupational therapy treatments and procedures under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
• Assist in developing treatment plans, as appropriate.
• Carry out routine functions within the scope of treatment plans established by an Occupational Therapist.
• Document progress of treatment within the scope of established treatment plans.
• Provide age-appropriate education for clients and caregivers.
• Supervise and assume responsibility for care provided by identified team members.
