About The Position

Harris Hill Nursing Facility is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join its rehabilitation team. Working under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, the COTA provides therapeutic interventions to help residents improve function, maintain independence, and achieve their highest level of performance. The facility is located in Williamsville and is part of The McGuire Group, a provider of skilled nursing and rehabilitation services throughout New York State. Requirements

• Associate of Applied Science degree from an Occupational Therapy Assistant program approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
• Valid New York State Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license.
• Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with residents, families, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Commitment to compassionate, resident-centered care.

• Skilled nursing facility experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement occupational therapy treatment programs under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
• Assist with resident assessments and contribute to treatment planning within the COTA scope of practice.
• Provide therapeutic interventions focused on functional abilities, activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, strength, and independence.
• Monitor resident progress and communicate findings to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Complete documentation, care plans, billing, and clinical records accurately and on time.
• Educate residents, families, and staff on therapy techniques, adaptive equipment, and home exercise programs.
• Train and support rehabilitation aides as assigned.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, discharge planning, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensure residents receive prescribed therapy services and treatment minutes.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
