About The Position

Ozarks Community Hospital (OCH), located in Gravette, Arkansas, is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our Rehabilitation department. Our Mission: Ozarks Community Hospital and clinics are dedicated to providing exceptional healthcare and preventive services to all patients in an atmosphere of compassion, respect, and dignity, with a commitment to care for the underserved and to improve access to care. COTA is responsible for administering occupational therapy modalities of treatment only as directed by the staff Occupational Therapist. Administers treatments and physical agents as directed by the staff Occupational Therapist, after the Occupational Therapist has evaluated the patient. The Occupational Therapy Assistant assists the Occupational Therapist with restoration of patient functioning to prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability. Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. The Occupational Therapy Assistant participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in CQI activities. Participates in all infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational safety and fire safety programs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Degree from a school or college approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
  • Holds current license as Occupational Therapy Assistant.
  • Current BLS certification upon hire or BLS certification must be obtained during orientation period or at next available scheduled class. Throughout employment, current BLS certification must be maintained by renewal during renewal period or at next available scheduled class.
  • Ability to teach/instruct and evaluate the learning of new employees.
