As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with Home Health Care, Inc., you will work with patients inside their homes, addressing the everyday challenges that hinder their recovery. You will observe, adapt, teach, encourage, and problem-solve to help patients accomplish tasks they may have taken for granted before an illness, injury, hospitalization, or surgery. This role involves improving strength, coordination, teaching new task completion methods, introducing adaptive equipment, and identifying environmental obstacles. Your treatment will have an immediate test: does it work in real life? You will work one-on-one with patients on activities they need to perform between visits, such as getting dressed, bathing, grooming, improving upper-extremity strength, preparing meals, using adaptive equipment, developing safer routines, improving fine motor skills, conserving energy, and adapting after neurological events or physical decline, all within their actual home environment.
