About The Position

QSAC is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Part Time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to work with children and young adults at our Whitestone Day School. The COTA will implement treatment plans and Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals to enhance students' participation in self-maintenance, work, leisure, and play. Supervision will be provided, and applicants must possess current New York State certifications.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) program.
Current New York State COTA license to practice.
Current New York State certifications.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with people with autism.
One to three years of experience working as an OTA in a related setting.

Responsibilities

Provide direct service according to a written treatment plan/IEP developed by an Occupational Therapist (OT), or collaboratively with the COTA.
Recommend modifications to treatment approaches to the OT based on the student's evolving needs.
Collaborate with the OT to create appropriate plans for the students.
Communicate and interact with other team members, school personnel, and families in conjunction with a supervising OT.
Develop and maintain a daily schedule, including sites, students/classrooms, and other activities/duties.
Maintain accurate records and documentation.
Uphold high standards of confidentiality, attendance, and flexibility, while working cooperatively with supervisors and colleagues.
