About The Position

QSAC is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist (OT) to work with children and young adults at our Bronx Day School. The OT will be responsible for implementing treatment plans and Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals to enhance students' participation in self-maintenance, work, leisure, and play. Additionally, the OT will provide education and supervision to Occupational Therapy Assistants.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program required
Current New York State OT license to practice required

Nice To Haves

Experience working with people with autism highly preferred
One to three years’ experience working as an OT in a related setting preferred

Responsibilities

Direct service according to a written treatment plan/IEP that the OT develops
Recommend modification of treatment approaches to reflect the student’s changing needs
Develop appropriate plans for the students being supported
Provide collaborative education and supervision services to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants to promote best practices and professional growth
Communicate and interact with other team members, school personnel, and families
Develop and maintain a daily schedule, which includes sites, students/classrooms and other activities/duties
Maintain and records accurate records and documentation
Maintain high standards of confidentiality, attendance, and flexibility, while working cooperatively with Supervisors and other employees
