School-Based Occupational Therapist ( OT )
About The Position
PRO is hiring a part-time School-Based Occupational Therapist in Pittston, Pennsylvania. The position serves students from kindergarten through age 21 and is scheduled for three days per week during normal school-day hours, with flexible days. The therapist provides specialized treatment in accordance with students’ Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), assesses student functioning, uses assessment data to guide instruction, and collaborates with school staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Requirements
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Active Pennsylvania Occupational Therapy License.
- At least one year of consecutive experience treating children and/or adolescents in an educational setting.
- Comfort using a computer.
- Ability to complete documentation to school district standards.
- Current clearances, obtained within the past six months.
Responsibilities
- Implement specialized therapy treatment in accordance with each student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
- Administer occupational therapy assessments to determine students’ levels of functioning relative to their age and educational placement.
- Analyze and interpret assessment data and use it to guide instruction and improve student skills.
- Collaborate with special education staff, classroom teachers, and other service providers to provide consistent, comprehensive student services.
- Participate in the school’s multidisciplinary and IEP program teams.
- Consult and collaborate with school staff and parents in support of students’ goals.
- Complete, update, and maintain required documentation.
- Perform other appropriate duties as assigned.
