About The Position

Ultimate Therapy is hiring a full-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) at Autumn Lake at Patuxent River in Laurel, Maryland. The position provides practical, individualized treatment in a skilled nursing rehabilitation setting. The assistant implements the supervising Occupational Therapist’s plan of care, supports residents in developing daily living skills, and works with nursing and rehabilitation colleagues to reinforce skills during everyday routines. The role offers $36–$40 per hour and benefits.

Requirements

• Active Maryland Occupational Therapy Assistant license and COTA certification.
• Ability to carry out individualized treatment plans and observe resident-specific precautions.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical documentation skills.

Nice To Haves

• Skilled nursing experience is a plus; new graduates are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Implement the supervising Occupational Therapist’s plan of care through purposeful activities and guided practice.
• Help residents develop skills for dressing, bathing, grooming, and toileting.
• Incorporate prescribed exercises addressing upper-extremity function, coordination, and activity tolerance.
• Reinforce adaptive equipment techniques and strategies for safely managing tasks and conserving energy.
• Communicate functional progress, treatment responses, and changes in assistance needs to the Occupational Therapist.
• Document services accurately.
• Collaborate with nursing and rehabilitation colleagues to reinforce skills during daily routines.
