About The Position

HealthPro Heritage is hiring a PRN Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) at Cook Willow in Plymouth, Connecticut, in a skilled nursing facility setting. The COTA assists with individualized therapy under treatment plans developed by an Occupational Therapist, supporting patients as they work to improve daily living skills and independence. Requirements

Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
Current state licensure, or eligibility for licensure, to practice as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.

Previous experience in an occupational therapy setting, such as a hospital, clinic, or school; new graduates are also encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Assist in delivering individualized therapy based on treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist, including activities to improve daily living skills such as dressing, eating, and mobility.
Track and document patient progress, maintain accurate records in compliance with facility policies, and report changes or concerns to the Occupational Therapist.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, and nursing staff, to provide holistic care.
Educate patients and families on therapeutic exercises, adaptive equipment, and strategies for independence.
Lead or assist patients with exercises, activities of daily living, and other therapeutic tasks.
Create a positive and supportive environment to encourage patient engagement.
