About The Position

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) provides direct patient care under the supervision of an occupational therapist. The role assists with therapeutic interventions and documentation while supporting quality and compliance standards in rehabilitation services at Kindred Hospital Paramount, a long-term acute care hospital. The COTA contributes to patient care through communication with the supervising occupational therapist and interdisciplinary team, instruction for families or nursing staff, accurate documentation, and maintenance of treatment equipment and work areas.

Requirements

• Be licensed and eligible to practice as a COTA in the state where services are rendered.
• Hold CPR certification.
• Demonstrate strong communication, time-management, and clinical documentation skills.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with electronic medical records.

Responsibilities

• Communicate patient progress or concerns to the supervising occupational therapist and interdisciplinary team.
• Instruct patients’ families or nursing staff in follow-through programs and home exercises.
• Assist with patient scheduling and enter post-treatment charges in patient records daily.
• Document patient care accurately and in accordance with regulatory, licensing, payer, and accrediting requirements.
• Maintain treatment equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Comply with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct, Corporate Compliance Agreement, applicable laws, and professional standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
