About The Position

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) provides direct patient care in the Acute Rehabilitation Unit under the supervision of an occupational therapist. The role assists with therapeutic interventions and documentation while supporting quality and compliance standards in rehabilitation services. The COTA communicates patient progress and concerns, helps patients’ families and nursing staff follow treatment programs, and maintains accurate records and a safe treatment environment.

The position is full-time at Kindred Hospital Paramount ARU, an 18-bed hospital in Paramount, California, and is part of Lifepoint Health. The stated wage scale is $28.00–$49.44 per hour.

Requirements

• Be licensed and eligible to practice as a COTA in the state where services are rendered.
• Hold CPR certification.
• Demonstrate strong communication, time management, and clinical documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Communicate patient progress or concerns to the supervising occupational therapist and interdisciplinary team.
• Instruct patients’ families or nursing staff in follow-through programs and home exercises.
• Assist with patient scheduling and record post-treatment charges in patient records daily.
• Document patient care accurately in accordance with regulatory, licensing, payer, and accrediting requirements.
• Maintain treatment equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Comply with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct, Corporate Compliance Agreement, applicable laws, and professional standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
