About The Position

Assists nursing service personnel with patient care activities and related services that support patients’ personal needs and comfort. Duties may include assisting with personal hygiene, taking vital signs, changing bed linens, serving and collecting food trays, providing between-meal nourishment, and cleaning, sterilizing, storing, and preparing supplies. The role uses commonly applied concepts, practices, and procedures in the field. The Certified Nursing Assistant performs technical skills in accordance with each patient’s plan of care and comfort measures. The role also supports admissions, discharges, transfers, examinations, procedures, and treatments, and documents patient care in assigned records.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and related previous work experience.
American Heart Association-issued BLS.
Active Nursing Assistant license issued by the State of Tennessee.
CPI certification must be obtained during Hospital Orientation.

Nice To Haves

Six or more months of hospital experience.
Nursing Assistant license issued by the State of Tennessee is listed as preferred for Nursing Assistant roles.

Responsibilities

Perform technical skills that incorporate the patient's plan of care and comfort measures.
Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
Assist patients with activities and care as assigned by the Charge Nurse and/or RN and as indicated by the patient's plan of care.
Prepare and chaperone patients during examinations, procedures, and treatments; assist with procedures and treatments.
Document patient care in all assigned patient records.
Assist with personal hygiene, take vital signs, and change bed linens.
Serve and collect food trays and provide between-meal nourishment as needed.
Clean, sterilize, store, and prepare supplies.
Perform related duties as required.
