About The Position
The Certified Nursing Assistant works in Med/Surg 1 at Central Maine Medical Center. Under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit, the Patient Care Assistant helps patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care, and assists in maintaining a safe environment. This is a per-diem opportunity with a variable shift.
Requirements
- State-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Current BLS (AHA) certification is required within 30 days of hire and must be maintained.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is required.
Nice To Haves
- Current phlebotomy certification upon hire is preferred.
- Current EKG certification upon hire is preferred.
- At least six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living.
