About The Position
The Certified Nursing Assistant plays an essential role in delivering compassionate, high-quality care to members in various healthcare settings. The position involves assisting members with daily living activities, monitoring their health status, and supporting nursing staff to help achieve optimal member outcomes. The CNA serves as a link between members and the healthcare team, helping maintain member comfort, dignity, and safety. Through direct interaction, the CNA contributes to the overall care plan by observing and promptly reporting changes in member conditions. The role helps foster a supportive environment that promotes healing and well-being.
Requirements
- Current Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification recognized by the state of employment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and member care procedures.
- Ability to pass a background check and meet health screening requirements.
- Relevant education may substitute for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working in a healthcare setting such as a hospital, nursing home, or assisted living facility.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Additional training or certification in specialized care areas such as geriatrics or rehabilitation.
Responsibilities
- Assist members with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to members, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
- Assist nursing staff with medical procedures and member care tasks as directed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for members by following infection control protocols.
- Promptly report changes in a member's condition or behavior to the nursing team.
- Help with member transfers and positioning to prevent bedsores and promote circulation.
