About The Position
Covenant Living is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide daily direct care to residents in assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care. The role supports the organization’s purpose of creating joy and peace of mind for residents and their families in a teamwork-oriented, respectful, service-focused, faith-based community. The CNA assists residents with basic personal care according to procedures and daily assignments, including bathing, dressing, dental hygiene, toileting, grooming, feeding, and transportation or transfers. The position also assists with activities, light housekeeping, laundry, and dining services. The CNA helps keep resident rooms clean and orderly, prepares residents for meals, serves meals, and assists residents with eating. The CNA may be cross-trained in Assisted Living. The position reports directly to the nurse manager and may also take direction from licensed nurses on duty or other supervisory staff.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an approved Nursing Assistant program in the state and passing its test.
- Listed on the state’s Health Nursing Assistant Registry.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct daily care to residents.
- Assist residents with bathing, dressing, dental hygiene, toileting, grooming, feeding, and transportation or transfers.
- Assist residents with activities, light housekeeping, laundry, and dining services.
- Maintain resident rooms in a clean and orderly manner, including changing linens, making beds, putting away clothing and personal effects, tidying bedside tables, shelves, and closets, and cleaning bathrooms.
- Assist with resident laundry, ensuring clothing is marked, clean, mended, ironed, and put away; notify a supervisor when clothing needs arise.
- Prepare residents for meals, assist with serving meals, and help feed residents.
- May be cross-trained in Assisted Living.
