About The Position

Provides basic nursing care to residents under direct supervision at Hi-Desert Continuing Care Center. The role involves recording vital signs and resident information, assisting residents with personal care and daily activities, maintaining documentation and confidentiality, and supporting residents’ comfort and privacy. The position works day shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with every other weekend required.

Requirements

• High school graduate.
• Current California CNA license.
• CPR certificate.
• Ability to perform considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching; lift, position, or transfer residents; lift or carry up to 50 pounds; occasionally stand and walk for prolonged periods; and occasionally lift supplies or equipment.
• Ability to work with residents in a variety of circumstances and possible exposure to infectious or contagious diseases and blood-borne disease risks.

Responsibilities

• Follow departmental policies, procedures, objectives, quality improvement programs, and safety, environmental, infection-control, sanitation, and hospital standards.
• Obtain and document resident vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, oxygen saturation (SaO2), respiration, pulse, pain, and weight, as well as intake and output.
• Assist residents with personal care, including bathing, oral care, shaving, dressing, eating, bedpans, and transportation.
• Maintain resident documentation.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident and unit care data.
• Demonstrate sensitivity to resident comfort and privacy.
• Participate in educational programs and in-service meetings as requested, and attend continuing education courses related to the area of specialization.
