About The Position

Trailpoint Village provides free Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training through the ASC Nurse Aide Training Program. No previous experience is required; participants need a commitment to providing compassionate care to residents. The program includes free classroom instruction and hands-on clinical training and prepares participants to become a CNA in a few weeks. Training takes place over two weeks and includes 30 hours of classroom work and 45 hours of hands-on clinical training. Participants are supported by ASC instructors, nurses, and CNAs. After completing the program and testing, Talent Acquisition Partners assist participants with applying for a position at one of American Senior Communities’ Indiana-based locations. Further nursing career pathways are available, including tuition and certification reimbursement, college and university partnerships, paid training, and career development. CNA work may include assisting residents with personal care and meals, transferring and repositioning residents, taking and recording vital signs and observations, responding to call lights, and providing companionship.

Requirements

Responsibilities

Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, hair care, tooth brushing, and shaving.
Help residents at mealtimes, including transporting them to the dining room and assisting with eating and drinking.
Reposition and transfer residents between beds, wheelchairs, and toilets.
Obtain resident vital signs, such as heart rate and blood pressure, and record observations.
Answer patient call lights and help fulfill resident requests.
Build meaningful relationships with residents and provide companionship.
