About The Position

Rehab Without Walls Neuro Rehabilitation is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for a PRN role, with a Full-Time option also available. This is a unique opportunity to provide care in a residential, home-like setting rather than a hospital. The role focuses on helping patients rebuild independence after neurological injuries, offering a more personal, flexible, and impactful care experience with a lighter workload than traditional facility roles. You will support patients recovering from brain injuries, strokes, and complex conditions, assisting them in their transition from hospital to home and ultimately to independence. This position is part of a collaborative neurorehabilitation team.

Requirements

  • Minimum age requirement is 18 years.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record, as defined by agency policy.
  • Certification as a Nurse Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Care Aide in the state where care will be provided.
  • Completion of a recognized home care aide training program or 6 months of recent experience as an aide.
  • Must be able to utilize proper body mechanics while lifting and may be expected to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for periods of time and bend, stoop, push, pull, and reach.

Nice To Haves

  • CRMA certification (if not already CNA-M)

Responsibilities

  • Assist nurses by performing various basic care activities related to essential patient needs and comfort.
  • Assist patients with dressing, grooming, bathing, feeding, and taking/recording vital signs.
  • Answer call lights, assist with toileting, oral care, nail care, and catheter care.
  • Assist patients in wheelchairs, transport patients, turn bedridden patients, report patient changes, and take out trash.
  • Provide simple or uncomplicated patient care.
  • Clean rooms and change bed linens.
  • Take and record temperature, pulse, and respiration rate.
  • Administer medications as directed by a Physician or Nurse and make notations of the amount and time given.
  • Other duties as assigned.
