Certified Nursing Assistant - per diem/ on-call
About The Position
Covenant Living is seeking Certified Nursing Assistants to provide resident care in assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care. The role supports the organization’s purpose of creating joy and peace of mind for residents and their families in a supportive, faith-based community. The CNA provides daily direct care and assists with activities, light housekeeping, laundry, and dining services. Duties include helping residents with basic personal care according to procedures and daily assignments, maintaining clean and orderly resident rooms, managing resident laundry, and preparing residents for meals. The position may include cross-training in Assisted Living. The role reports directly to the nurse manager and may also take direction from licensed nurses on duty or other supervisory staff.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an approved Nursing Assistant program in the State and passing the required test.
- Listed on the State’s Health Nursing Assistant Registry.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care to residents on a daily basis.
- Assist residents with bathing, dressing, dental hygiene, toileting, grooming, feeding, transportation, and transfers.
- Assist residents with activities, light housekeeping, laundry, and dining services.
- Maintain resident rooms in a clean and orderly manner, including changing linens, making beds, putting away clothing and personal effects, tidying bedside tables, shelves, and closets, and cleaning bathrooms.
- Assist with resident laundry, ensuring clothing is marked, clean, mended, ironed, and put away.
- Notify a supervisor of residents’ clothing needs.
- Prepare residents for meals, assist with serving meals, and feed residents as needed.
- Follow procedures and daily assignments for resident care.
- Take direction from the nurse manager, licensed nurses on duty, or other supervisory staff.
