About The Position

Otterbein is seeking a skilled, compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA/STNA) to provide high-quality, person-centered care that supports residents’ independence and respects their choices. The role promotes residents doing as much as possible for themselves while helping maintain their safety and well-being. Partners in Caring work together to provide compassionate care in Otterbein’s communities and small house neighborhoods.

The position is offered on a full-time or part-time basis, with shifts available from 7 a.m.–3 p.m., 3 p.m.–11 p.m., and 11 p.m.–7 a.m. Starting pay is $18.50 per hour and increases with experience. Shift differentials are $3.00 per hour for second shift and $1.50 per hour for third shift. The posting also describes on-the-job assistance with obtaining certification.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA/STNA) certification required in Ohio; applicants must pass the state test and be listed on the Nurse Aide Registry.
• Good documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to use proper lift techniques and lift equipment to move, lift, and transfer residents.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care and maintain elders’ safety.
• Offer elders choices and opportunities to make decisions.
• Engage in interesting and meaningful activities with elders.
• Assist elders with getting up and going to bed when they choose.
• Plan and cook elders’ favorite foods and share meals with them.
• Perform laundry and light housekeeping tasks.
