About The Position

Advance your career at North Alabama Specialty Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama, as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in a long-term acute care specialty setting serving ICU and critical care patients. Requirements

Prior hospital experience required.
High school diploma, GED, or CNA certification required.
BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
Ability to work with people from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds.
Ability to organize, set priorities, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to a rapidly changing environment.

Responsibilities

Provide basic nursing care within the CNA scope of practice to meet patients’ psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and physical needs.
Perform basic patient care responsibilities while considering needs specific to the standard of care for the patient’s age.
Assist with patient admission, transfer, and discharge.
Explain care to patients and families before providing it and answer questions within the scope of practice.
Remain flexible and organized and function effectively in stressful situations.
Respond to patients in emergency or physically distressful situations.
Complete documentation in accordance with current standards and policies.
Use resources appropriately and accept accountability for their utilization.
Perform other duties as assigned within the CNA scope of practice.
