CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT - 6am to 10am
About The Position
A Certified Nursing Assistant performs nursing procedures and patient care tasks as outlined by a patient’s plan of care. The position reports to the CNA Manager and is full-time and nonexempt. Regular hours are 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Monday through Friday. The role also participates in holiday and weekend on-call rotations, with shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Work is performed primarily in the field, in patients’ homes, skilled nursing facilities, or other places where patients call home, and occasionally at the Hospice Alliance residential facility. The role involves frequent driving and potential exposure to animals, smoke, unpleasant odors, and contagious diseases or infections. Driving may present hazards in inclement weather.
Requirements
- Must have current, valid Wisconsin Nursing Aid certification.
- Requires a valid driver’s license and a vehicle with auto coverage.
- Must satisfactorily complete caregiver and criminal background checks and drug screening.
Nice To Haves
- High school graduate preferred.
- Previous hospice or palliative care experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Administer patient care under the direction of the RN and according to the CNA care plan.
- Report changes in a client’s condition or needs to the RN Case Manager.
- Provide personal care, including bathing, shampooing, skin and nail care, oral hygiene, shaving, and dressing.
- Perform household tasks essential to health care, including meal preparation and feeding, laundry, and light housekeeping.
- Accurately document care provided and submit records and pertinent observations according to Hospice Alliance policies and procedures.
- Attend CNA in-services to meet the state requirement of 12 continuing education hours per year.
- Communicate effectively with all members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
