About The Position
Our Lady of Mercy Life Center (OLOM) is seeking Certified Nursing Assistants to provide direct and indirect patient care and support the efficient operation of patient care units. The center provides short-term rehabilitation and skilled nursing care in a supportive, resident-focused environment, including Long-Term Care and Memory Care units. Its care emphasizes dignity, respect, and self-worth, and its teams use technologies such as Smart Cell Flooring to help reduce patient falls and an Artificial Sky in the Memory Care unit. The sub-acute unit offers clinical experience to advance nursing practice. This is a three-week, full-time training program scheduled from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Our Lady of Mercy, 2 Mercy Care Lane, Guilderland, NY 12084. The role also includes assisting with clerical and other support tasks to help ensure quality patient care. The posting describes a patient- and resident-focused workplace guided by the traditions of the Sisters of Mercy.
Requirements
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a sincere desire to serve others.
- Patience, a cheerful disposition, enthusiasm, and willingness to handle difficult residents.
- Ability to work professionally with other staff, residents, family members, and outside agencies or visitors.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent life experience is preferred.
